Shanghi, Mt. Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), Wuhan, Yangtze River, Chongqing, Kunming, Guangzhou, Hong Kong
This itinerary combines the popular Yangtze River Cruise with Mt. Huangshan and Kunming. Mt. Huangshan is one of China's five most famous mountains, known for its graceful pine trees, grotesque rocks, sea of clouds and hot springs, while Kunming in Yunnan Province, where minorities live in compact community, offers a day trip to Stone Forest famed for its karst limestone formations with rock caves, archs and pavilions.
Day 1. West Coast/Shanghai
Depart West Coast on United Airlines for Shanghai.
Day 2. Shanghai
Upon arrival in Shanghai, you are escorted to your deluxe hotel.
Day 3. Shanghai (AB/L/SD)
Morning program begins with the Yu Garden. A well-preserved ancient garden, it is claimed as "the most beautiful garden in southeast China", boasting different scenic views in some thirty places with pavilions, halls, rockeries and ponds. Proceed to the Jade Buddha Temple. Built in 1918, the temple houses two rare Buddha statues, each carved out of a single piece of white jade. Afternoon excursion features a children's palace, where school children go in for extra-curricular activities. Attend a welcome banquet in the evening.
Day 4. Shanghai/Huangshan (AB/L/D)
Sightseeing this morning takes you to Nanjing Road, heavy with traffic and lined with shops, and to the famous waterfront boulevard, the Bund-- "Wall Street of the East". Afternoon flight to Huangshan and transfer to your deluxe hotel upon arrival.
Day 5-6.Huangshan (AB/L/D)
Board a coach to Mt. Huangshan. Half way up the mountain, take a cable car to the summit. Upon arrival, walk to your deluxe hotel. Enjoy the incredible North Sea and West Sea panoramas and the spectacular sunrise.
Day 7. Haungshan/Wuhan (AB/L/D)
This morning, take a cable car down the mountain to connect with a flight to Wuhan. Upon arrival, do some sightseeing and board the cruise ship after dinner.
Day 8-11.Yangtze River Cruise (AB/L/D)
Relax on deck or in the lounge, enjoying the beautiful scenery, especially the Xiling Gorge, the longest and most scenic one and then the Wu gorge known for its deep zigzagging valley and forested mountains. Transfer to a motorboat to cruise up the Daning River for vistas of the awe-inspiring Lesser Three Gorges before you marvel at the Qutang Gorge with its churning waters cloistered by towering moss-clad precipices. Shore excursions take you to Yueyang to tour Lake Dongting, Yueyang and Junshan Island and to Fengdu, the "Ghost City" with Mingshan Hill's temples filled with statuary.
