Day 1. West Coast/Beijing
Your journey to China begins when you board today's UA flight to Beijing.
Day 2. Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, you will be greeted and escorted to your deluxe hotel.
Day 3. Beijing (AB/L)
In the morning, visit the Forbidden City, the complex of imperial palace which were home to the Emperors for over 500 years. Before lunch, stop at Jingshan Park for a superb panoramic view of the Imperial City, then take a stroll in Tian An Men Square. Later visit the Temple of Heaven, where the Emperors performed the annual rites believed to be essential to the well-being of China. Attend an Acrobatic Show in the evening.
Day 4. Beijing (AB/L/SD)
From the Drum Tower at Beihai, we take rickshaws for a fascinating tour of Beijing's hutongs,
a labyrinth of old and narrow streets lined with ancient courtyard houses, giving us a glimpse into the traditional and colorful life of Beijing residents. This is followed by a visit to the Gongwangfu Palace. After lunch, visit the Summer Palace where the Emperors went to escape the heat of the city. Tonight, you will enjoy the traditional Beijing Duck Dinner.
Day 5. Beijing/Chengde (AB/L/D)
This morning, take a coach to the town of Chengde. En route stop at the Jinshanling area of the Great Wall. This quiet section of the wall has been recognized as one of the most spectacular areas for over 200 years. We admire this stunning scenery over a relaxing picnic. On arrival at Chengde, we visit the "Mountain Resort", the summer residence of Qing Emperors
Day 6. Chengde (AB/L/D)
Morning program features the three magnificent temples of Pule, Pulin and Putuozongsheng, built in imitation of the Potala Palace in Lhasa. After lunch, enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Bangcui Peak from a relaxing chair-lift as we pass over inclined fields and the roof-tops of the Pule Temple
Day 7. Chengde/Xian (AB/L)
Have the morning free to explore the nearby food street and sample the life in a typical Chinese
provincial town. After lunch, coach to Beijing and connect to the flight to Xian, Upon arrival, transfer to the deluxe hotel.
Day 8. Xian (AB/L/D)
Today's excursion shows you the 7-000 life-sized Terra-cotta army, Circle Vision Movie and complete with chariots and horses and also the Hua Qing Hot Spring. Back to the city, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the ancient City Wall. Enjoy the a performance of music and dance from the Tang Dynasty.
